AgentSmyth Raises $8.7M to Bring Autonomous Agents to Capital Markets
We are excited to announce FinTech Collective’s lead investment in AgentSmyth, which today announced the close of an $8.7 million Seed round, with participation from Thomson Reuters Ventures and BNY Mellon through its Ascent innovation program. AgentSmyth delivers autonomous agents that compress the research-to-trade workflow from hours to seconds, providing institutional traders with real-time, auditable intelligence.
Company Description
AgentSmyth is a New York-based autonomous agent platform purpose-built for capital markets. The platform orchestrates modular, specialized AI agents – Macro, Sentiment, Quant, Options, and Earnings – to rapidly deliver actionable trading insights. These agents integrate with existing institutional tools, adhere to compliance standards, and can be deployed securely within institutional environments.
Since its founding in March 2024, the platform is already in use by 48 institutional customers, including hedge funds, broker-dealers, and global banks – demonstrating measurable advantages in usability, speed, and compliance over general-purpose AI solutions.
Founded by Pulkit Jaiswal (founder of predictive analytics platform nwo.ai), Daniel McCooey (former MD at Weeden & Co), and Robert DiFazio (former Co-Head of Global Equities at Citi), the team combines deep technical expertise with extensive experience in institutional finance.
FTC Summary
Institutional research workflows remain slow, expensive, and heavily manual, and generalist AI tools lack the latency, compliance readiness, and domain specialization needed for front-office deployment.
AgentSmyth closes that gap. By orchestrating purpose-built agents into secure, modular workflows, the platform transforms how financial institutions generate, validate, and act on real-time intelligence – with the speed, transparency, and controls required for institutional use.
For us, this investment sits squarely in our agentic finance thesis – the shift from copilot AI to fully agentic systems capable of executing complex workflows with sub-second speed and human-level nuance. AgentSmyth is building the autonomous trade-intelligence layer that Wall Street didn’t know it was missing: compressing a Bloomberg terminal, a sell-side analyst, and a junior quant into a single AI agent that can turn any headline into a compliant order ticket in under 60 seconds.
We met Pulkit shortly after the company’s inception and were immediately drawn to the team’s clarity of vision and pace of execution. With their real-world traction, differentiated architecture, and growing momentum, we believe AgentSmyth is poised to become essential infrastructure for institutional research and trading. We are thrilled to partner with Pulkit, Daniel, Bob, and the entire AgentSmyth team in shaping the future of autonomous financial intelligence.
“Investment research is becoming a commodity; the real edge is turning that raw insight into basis-point-generating trades. Competitors might find the paragraph—AgentSmyth tells you how to trade it.”
— Pulkit Jaiswal, Co-founder and CEO, AgentSmyth
